On Sunday Morning October 30, 2016 Pastor Sledge's message was "The Joy of a Healthy Church".

Scripture Philippians 1:3-11:
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ.
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Paul wrote this passage. God had an earthquake so Paul could get out of jail. Paul thanked God. Paul lead people to the Lord.

He used the outline as follows:

I: REMEMBER THE BEST: Paul led the jailer who had beaten him in prison and his family to Christ. Remember the best in your friend (vs 4-6). The Lord never gives up on us and He never forgets where we are, and if we will let Him be our friend, He will be.

II: SEE THE BEST: Paul put people in jail. Paul met Jesus; he was one of the greatest servants He had. He saw the man who wrote most of the New Testament. God sees what and who we really are. We can't fool him. God knows where we are going and what we will be doing. We can't see what God sees in our heart. God knows what we can be, and we can be God's friend if we will just ask Him. He wants us to talk to Him like a friend.

III: LOVE WITH YOUR HEART: A friend sees the best in you; they love you and will be there for you and in their heart. People who love you with their minds want you to change or to change you. Rev. Sledge said "he loves us and prays for us daily."  If we know Jesus as our Lord and Savior, He is in our heart.

IV: PRAY FOR YOUR FRIENDS: We must pray for our friends. We must trust Jesus. Paul said every time I pray, I pray in Joy (vs 9-10). We need to be on our knees and in prayer for our Country. Much more important to God is for us to pray for each other. We must never give up on the people who need to be saved.

Questions: Why should I let Jesus Christ in as my Savior? How do I come to know Jesus? If we can help you in any way or if you would like our Pastor to give you a call, you can private message or you can give our Church a call at 706-637-8731.

What a Blessed Day we had on Sunday Morning October 23, 2016 Rev. Sledge preached on The Joy of a Healthy Church and passage was from Philippians 1:2-11: 2 Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you,
4 Always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy,
5 For your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now;
6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
7 Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defence and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace.
8 For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ.
9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment;
10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ;
11 Being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

Rev. Sledge talked about how we must PUT GOD FIRST! A Praying Church is a Growing Church. He has a outline in our bulletin each Sunday that helps us to follow his message and if we like we can take notes.This is some of the notes that I had taken from his message. Rev. Sledge said a whole lot more.

The outline goes like this:

1) Joy of Fellowship: We are to love one another as family. Love Never Fails! We are to work in harmony with our friends in Church. Question was: Are you Faithful to the end? We must get our heart clear. We must be more faithful in our prayer life and we are to pray for each other. In Matthew 5:23-24: Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

2) Joy in Confidence: The more we work for God the better fellowship you will have. You can never fool God. Question: Are all our efforts pleasing to God? He talked about visiting the Shut Ins and the Nursing Home. It is so important that we let these people know they have not been forgotten about. When the people who have lost loved ones it becomes very lonely being by yourself. We need to share our love to these people.

3) Joy in Sharing: We need to Increase our Knowledge of God. We need to learn to share God's Word with others. God said the more we love Him the more control he has over our lives. We must Surrender to Him.
