Children's Church General Guidelines

Guidelines to follow for Children's Church Leaders

• You must be a Christian to be a Children's Church volunteer
• Pray, Pray for God's guidance, for the children, and for the ministries of the church
• Know that others are praying for you.
• Study the lesson for the week. If you need help obtaining supplies for your presentation to the children, please contact Sondra or Alyson.
• Giving out snacks is highly discouraged. The children are only in CC for 40-45 minutes. Please use that time to work on teaching the lesson, memory verse and craft. This will also help avoid food allergy issues.
• The curriculum is designed to teach kids ages 4-8 years. Children younger or older than that will not get from the lesson what is intended. There is a nursery available for younger kids.
• A background check is needed when working with children 18 years and younger. These will be kept in the church office.
• Co-host should be 9th grade or older.
• Treat children with respect.
• Leave room the way it was at the beginning, children will be happy to help clean up.
• Have fun and enjoy the children.
